Cake Care
Finished with Swiss meringue or French buttercream, our cakes are designed to be as elegant in texture as they are in appearance. This buttercream is prized for its silk-smooth finish, balanced sweetness, and delicate melt-in-the-mouth quality.
Storage
To preserve freshness and structure, keep the cake refrigerated until serving. Store in its box or a sealed container to protect it from absorbing surrounding aromas. For optimal quality, enjoy within 2–3 days of collection or delivery.
If freezing is required, ensure the cake is well protected and freeze for up to one month. Thaw gently overnight in the refrigerator.
Preparing to Serve
Swiss buttercream is naturally firm when chilled. For its signature softness and flavour to shine, remove the cake from refrigeration 1½–2 hours before serving. The buttercream should be served at cool room temperature, when its texture is at its most refined.
Serving
For clean, precise slices, use a sharp knife warmed in hot water and wiped dry between cuts. Display the cake in a cool, shaded setting, away from direct sunlight or heat, to maintain its finish.
A Gentle Note
Swiss buttercream is intentionally less sweet and more delicate than traditional buttercreams. Minor condensation may appear as the cake warms—this is natural and will resolve as the temperature stabilizes. Once brought to room temperature, avoid re-refrigerating for best results.
Cake Serving & Cutting Guide
Choosing the right cake size helps ensure every guest enjoys a beautiful slice.
Party Slice vs. Event Slice
A party slice is a standard, generous portion typically served as a full dessert.
An event slice is a smaller, more refined portion—often served alongside other desserts or as part of a larger spread.
Below is a helpful guide to portioning our 6”, 8”, and 10” cakes, along with tips for clean, professional slicing.
6” Cake - Ideal for intimate celebrations and smaller gatherings.

Serves 12–14 smaller event slices
8” Cake - Ideal for birthdays, showers, and shared dessert tables.

10” Cake - Ideal for larger celebrations or events where cake is the main dessert.
